HOMEGROWN: The Journey So Far
HOMEGROWN was my first solo art exhibition, featuring 50+ pieces on display ranging from original woodcut paintings, to a quilt collaboration, prints and merchandise, as well as a 26-piece hand painted alphabet. This show was exhibited at the Panama City Center for the Arts for the month of September, 2024.
This ambitious first collection would not have been possible without the support of 73 generous backers, who fully-funded the Kickstarter that made this all possible. The rewards I created for that Kickstarter campaign are a collection in their own right— check out that artwork over here.
HOMEGROWN as a collection was inspired by my ambling journey so far into accidentally becoming an artist. From woodcut paintings of sentimental symbols from my past, to my early creative influences like hand lettering and tattoo motifs— the content in this body of work weaves a through-line throughout my creative journey, from early childhood to the present.
The pieces in this collection aim to connect with viewers’ own experience, by highlighting that which is universal out of very specific sentimentalities and regional icons of identity.
Thank you once more to John Rutan, Matt Miller, Carra Summers, and all of the staff of the Center for the Arts for your support and creative collaboration!
Almost all original pieces from this show sold from the gallery, but some commissioned duplicates and prints remain available. See my store page for more information.
